How does the rB3DP work?
Location of the effector
Knowing the distance from the effector to each of 3 points is sufficient to derive the X, Y and Z positions, providing the position of the 3 points are known. Mathematically, there are two possible answers but strings hang down and not up.

Paper making machine
Paper manufacture is a very old technology. Commercial manufacture uses large machines producing many tonnes per hour. School children can make paper sheets using a mold and deckle. What is needed here is a continuous paper production machine capable of hanging from 3 strings.

Printing a 'line' of material
This 3D printer builds up a 3-dimensional object just one 'line' at a time. Each 'line' has height and width, as well as its length. A layer is a group of lines, and the object is a stack of layers.
Using a smaller height and width produces finer details at the expense of having to create more 'lines'. There is always a maximum speed at which a 'line' of material can be created. |
